Corría el año 2001, época oscura en Argentina, cuando Juan Franco Vilche arma junto a Juan Pliachikas y Emilio Vega, Rastro. Una banda que recorría la zona sur del Gran Bs. As. Dando shows de rock crudo en estado puro. Esta formación existió hasta el 2004, año en que se disolvió… 4 años de silencio esperando el momento…

Hasta que en 2009 Vilche, con varias composiciones bajo el brazo, volvió a convocar a Pliachikas para unir fuerzas y armar una banda que grabe discos y salga a la ruta a tocarlos.

Luego de unos meses de ensayos Rastro graba su primer EP “Desde Adentro”, en estudios Del Abasto y El Abastito, con la ingeniería de Gonzalo Villagra y Gustavo Rowek como Drum Dr. A partir de ahí salieron a tocarlo en vivo por todos los rincones de Buenos Aires en donde pudiera sonar su música.

La banda, en plena búsqueda de identidad, se encuentra en las rutas de la música con Guillermo Estévez, quien se convertiría en productor de la banda. Vilche y Estévez juntan sus fuerzas, allá por mayo de 2013, para componer nuevas canciones para la pre producción de lo nuevo de Rastro, grabada íntegramente en Blacktape.

Apostando a un fin concreto, darle vida a canciones de rock pesado. Finalizada la pre producción, la banda recluta a Max Correa para así enfocarse en entrar a estudios en la mejor condición. Oscuras Magias se graba semanas después en Cool Sound Studios, con Guillermo Estévez como productor, quien convoca a Tom Taranto para que se haga cargo de la ingeniería del disco y a Nikko Taranto como Drum Dr. Oscuras Magias se edita a principios de 2014.

En Octubre de 2015 Rastro comienza la pre producción de lo que sería Estado Salvaje, se graban las maquetas del nuevo disco en una isla lejos de la ciudad muy cercanos a la naturaleza junto al equipo Blacktape, también con Estévez como productor artístico y Manolo Mauriño como ingeniero de grabación. En Marzo de 2016 comienza la grabación en estudios, empezando por las baterías en Romaphonic con Nicolás Polo como Drum Dr. y Martín Pomares como ingeniero de grabación, quien también se encargaría luego de la mezcla y mastering. Las guitarras bajos y voces fueron grabadas en Chulengo en los meses siguientes.

Estado Salvaje sale a la luz el 13 de Junio de 2016, está disponible en Spotify, también para descarga y a la venta en formato físico en el website. La banda se encuentra actualmente tocando el disco en vivo y recorriendo los escenarios de rock para compartir su música.

Llegamos al año 2020 (pandemia y caos). Juan Franco Vilche une fuerzas, una vez más, con Guillermo Estevez. Quien asume el rol de Productor Artístico. Se empieza a gestar el 4to disco de estudio de la banda. Se convoca a los sesionistas Eduardo Tobio en Guitarras y Marcos Edwards en Batería y junto a Juan Franco Vilche al bajo y voz la banda entra a estudios Attic bajo la ingeniería de Patricio Claypole. Luego de unos 7 meses de trabajo sale a la luz SINCERICIDIO el disco mas explícito del grupo. En este nuevo trabajo las emociones, sentimientos y, por que no, algunas experiencias cubiertas bajo el tenue manto de la poesía, afloran con la fuerte voluntad e intención de liberarlas al Universo.

It was 2001, going through dark times in Argentina, when Juan Franco Vilche along with Juan Pliachikas and Emilio Vega put together the band, Rastro.

The band travelled around the southern suburbs of Buenos Aires, playing gigs of pure rock. This formation lasted until 2004 when it was dissolved. They spent four years in silent, waiting for the right moment….

In 2009, Vilche, with lot of lyrics under his arm, call Pliachikas to reunite forces and regrouped the band again, they started recording and hit the road.

After few months of rehearsal, Rastro recorded the first albums ‘Desde Adentro’ - From Inside, in ‘Del Abasto’ and ‘El Abastito Studios’, with the sound engineer Gonzalo Villagra and Gustavo Rowek as drum doctor. From there on they played live in every corner of the city in Buenos Aires.

The band, in continuous searching of identity, met in the music scene with Guillermo Estévez, who would become the producer and the band’s musical guide.

Vilche and Estévez joined back in 2013 to write new songs for the pre-production of the new Rastro record, the album that was recorded entirely in Blacktape.

Betting on only one purpose, to create heavy rock songs, the band recruited Max Correa after finishing the pre-production and started focusing only on preparation to enter the studio in the best condition possible.

¨Oscuras Magias¨ was recorded after a few weeks in Cool Sound Studios, with Guillermo Estévez as the producer, who called Tom Taranto to be the sound engineer and Nikko Taranto as drum doctor. “Oscuras Magias” it’s published at the beginning of 2014.

In October of 2015 Rastro begins the pre-production of what would be "Estado Salvaje", the tracks of the new album were recorded on an island far from the city very close to nature with the Blacktape team, also with Estévez as artistic producer and Manolo Mauriño as recording engineer. In March of 2016 the recording begins, starting with the drums in Romaphonic, with Nicolás Polo as drum doctor and Martín Pomares as recording engineer, who also would be in charge after the mix and mastering. The bass, guitars and vocals were recorded in Chulengo in the following months.

We come to the year 2020 (pandemic and chaos). Juan Franco Vilche joins forces, once again, with Guillermo Estevez. Who assumes the role of Artistic Producer. The band's 4th studio album begins to take shape. The sessionists Eduardo Tobio on Guitars and Marcos Edwards on Drums are summoned and together with Juan Franco Vilche on bass and vocals the band enters Attic studios under the engineering of Patricio Claypole. After about 7 months of work, SINCERICIDIO comes out, the group's most explicit album. In this new work the emotions, feelings and, why not, some experiences covered under the thin mantle of poetry, emerge with the strong will and intention to release them to the Universe.
